3rd & 4th Grades on Wednesdays at Lunch

5th & 6th Grades on Thursdays at Lunch

This is an informal program for students who love to read. Students will meet weekly, during lunch, to discuss books that they are reading. Participants will eat their lunch in the library and discuss and rate books they have finished using The Readers Recommend Book Review form. Book reviews will be kept in a binder, organized by genre and book type/level (picture, intermediate, chapter, non-fiction, or graphic), at the circulation desk. This binder will be available for other students to access to use for reader's advisory.

The Readers Recommend students will curate two weekly book displays in the library: one by 3rd & 4th graders, and the other by 5th & 6th graders. Each displayed book will include a Book Review written by a Readers Recommend member.

Students must be nominated by their teacher to participate in Readers Recommend.

Support & Staffing:

No additional staffing required.
